FCC 25th anniversary logo

March 2020 marks the 25th year for Family Community Church!  The idea of a church in Northeast Fresno was conceived when God placed a vision on Pastor Chester McGensy’s heart on October 29, 1994. Work began at a feverish pace to establish Family Community Church. A spirit-led and faithful body of believers moved forward with purpose and conviction to begin the journey.  The first church service was held March 5, 1995.

And now, we are blessed to celebrate 25 years of God’s Enduring Grace!  The hand of God and the working of the Holy Spirit were clearly evident throughout the years. To God be the glory for all that He has done!

You are cordially invited and encouraged to support and participate in anniversary services, events, and give-aways throughout the year. Please bookmark this page for the latest information and mark your calendar today!

Weekly Themes for March

Each week of the celebration month of March will have a special weekly theme, relevant to the past, present, and future of Family Community Church. There will be special service elements and trivia throughout the week for each theme.

Week 1 A Vision Given; a Foundation Laid
God gave the vision to Rev. Chester L. McGensy on October 24, 1994 which marked the beginning of Family Community Church. The church service was held March 5, 1995, the Constitution adopted and incorporation papers were filed. The journey began. This week the backdrop for the establishment of the church will be presented.

Week 2 Possessing the Land and Building God’s House
After less than three years of meetings at Kastner Intermediate School, Pastor McGensy was led to a 20+ acre plot of land at Chestnut and Nees Avenues. The God given vision was clear…’The time is now to possess the land””. All members got involved and the excitement and commitment to a stewardship campaign was beyond compare. God’s hand was evident throughout the Possessing the Land campaign. This week will focus on how God’s grace and mercy prevailed through the Possessing the Land campaign and in building God’s house.

Week 3 Equipping God’s People
This week will explore church ministries and teaching which are designed to grow leaders, teach God’s word, and develop the body to Christian maturity to participate in service to the Lord and the community.

Week 4 Bringing Light into the Darkness
In addition to local mission work, Family Community Church embraced a vision to be part of the greater fulfillment of Matthew 24:14 by establishing supporting mission projects on all seven continents. Many are being touched by the Global Ministry work as well as domestic efforts at home.  Family Community Church ministry work will take center stage this week as we focus on this ongoing work.

Week 5 The Journey Continues
The body of Christ at Family Community Church, will continue to be faithful to the vision and mission of leading the unsaved to Christ, bringing Christians to maturity by preaching and teaching the uncompromised Work of God and equipping every believer for ministry.  With much prayer and continued commitment to the Word, Family Community Church will continue to work toward fulfilling its mission. “For with God all things are possible” Mark 10:27
